The Experience:

Your event experience starts from the time that you leave your driveway until you return home. Rides4Fun has partnered with a national navigation company to offer our guests the capability to choose to have “Best Motorcycle Roads” mapped for them or select the fastest route to and from the event. Visit Rever.co

The October date, combined with the mountain location, should ensure some great weather and beautiful fall colors. Unicoi State Park & Lodge is the perfect destination with its many amenities, legendary motorcycle roads and incredible routes for adventure and street riders.

Unicoi State Park & Lodge is in the heart of the Southern Appalachian Mountain range. The park is in the middle of GA, NC, SC and TN backroads. Event guests will be checking off many personal bucket-list rides during their visit. Some of the area’s roads, like The Dragon, have a national following and others, like Wolf Pen Gap, Wayah Rd or #129 over Blood Mountain, are just as special and local favorites.

The park’s location next to Helen, Georgia, allows guests to have a Bavarian experience without crossing an ocean. For those that have never been to the area, the entire town of Helen has a Bavarian theme.

Unicoi State Park & Lodge will be the base of operations for the event.

Wayaha Route is 185 miles of smiles, with over 13,657 ft of total elevation to keep riders entertained. Named after Wayaha Road, this road is as challenging as the region’s heavily-marketed roads but sees less than 10% of the traffic that The Dragon does. It includes all the local favorites like Wolf Pen Gap, Two Wheels of Suches, Tiger Mountain Winery, Dillard, Rabun Gap and Blood Mountain. Once guests experience this route, it will forever change their opinion of the quality of riding in the area.

At 259 miles, Skyway Route is the longest route of the weekend. The Cherohala Skyway is a bucket list ride. This section of road is regarded as one of the most iconic motorcycle roads in the Eastern United States. With over 20,500 ft of total elevation, with a high point topping out over 5,300 ft, this will be the route with best fall colors to enjoy. If riders are undecided between this route and the Wayaha, don’t stress. This route also includes the Wayaha Road as well.

Waterfalls Loop is an easy 123 miles of great scenery and also offers delicious lunch options on this route. The Dillard House just off of Hwy 23 is one of finest southern comfort food eateries in the south. Highlands, North Carolina, is often called the Aspen of the East. The town is laid out to offer the best shopping in the Blueridge Mountains. Not to be outdone by the modern additions to the area, mother nature offers multiple waterfalls along Hwy 64 between Highland and Franklin. This stretch of road is nicknamed little glacier, because of the historic stone walls and near vertical cliffs that border the small road like the famous “Going to the Sun” Road in Montana.

At 129 miles, the Tallulah Falls route is full of easy riding with great natural wonders to enjoy on and off the bike. The waterfalls and gorges in the area are some of the bests in the Southeastern United States. If while cruising along riders hear banjo music, don’t slow down. Rumor has it that this area was where the cult-classic Deliverance was filmed. Guests will also follow the Tallulah River and Rabun Lake Road for miles. This area has some of the most expensive real estate in the south. Keep an eye out for some great opportunities for outdoor dining or enjoy a coffee with a view of the lake.

Wolf Pen Gap explores local riding treasures like Richard Russell Scenic Hwy, Blood Mountain and Wolf Pen Gap Road. This 83-mile route includes elevation of nearly 4,000 ft and a convenient opportunity to stop at the world-famous Two Wheels of Suches for a good meal. This route is a great selection for guests who want to have plenty of time to enjoy all the amenities and great sites around Unicoi and Helen. The truth is, the route is so good that many guests will ride it twice.

The Adventure Route explores 120 miles of big-bike friendly adventure riding through beautiful ever-changing fall foliage. This route gets off the beaten path, so guests can enjoy a scenic ride of waterfalls and one great vista after another on dirt and gravel roads. It’s clear why there are two Backcountry Discovery Routes in the area and multiple other regionally known routes. Roughly 35% of the route is off-road.
